Squeaks usually come from worn drum support rollers or a tired idler pulley, while deeper rumbling points to drum glides or felt seal. With the dryer empty, listen carefully and spin the drum by hand — a rough or noisy rotation confirms internal wear that requires opening the cabinet for replacement.
If the freezer stays cold but the fridge section feels warm, cold air isn't transferring between compartments. Check that vents inside both sections aren't blocked by food. Listen for the evaporator fan running when the door is open — if silent, the fan motor or damper control has likely failed.
A completely dark control panel means the oven isn't receiving power or the control board has failed. Check that the breaker hasn't tripped and verify the outlet has 240V. If power reaches the oven but the display stays blank, the internal fuse may have blown or the board needs replacement.
If dishes come out dirty, the spray arms likely aren't spinning. Pull out the racks and detach both arms — they usually unclip or twist off. Hold them under hot running water and use a toothpick to clear food particles from each spray hole. Reinstall and confirm they rotate freely.
Commercial Maytag laundromat units rely on the coin slide or digital reader to start cycles. If displaying a payment error, first clean the coin slide of debris blocking the lever. For digital units, check the network cable and reboot the machine. Persistent issues usually point to the payment interface board.

Action: Replaced the damper assembly and evaporator fan motor with OEM Maytag parts, cleared iced-over evaporator coils, and confirmed proper airflow and temperature recovery within two hours.
Diagnosis: Severely clogged spray arm holes and a worn lower arm bearing — debris and hard water deposits had restricted both rotation and water flow over time.
Action: Replaced the lower spray arm and bearing with OEM Maytag parts, descaled the wash pump intake, and ran a hot rinse cycle to confirm both arms rotated freely with full water pressure.
